He lied and manipulated everyone into trusting him. Made everyone think everything he did was for the greater good. But it was never about that. He just hated us. And I fell for it— like an idiot!

He sent me out on a mission to retrieve more palismen. Said he needed them to manage his... "curse." [Said with an eye roll.] Obviously, I failed and he wasn't too happy about that.
Oh, he'd do more than that. [He huffs out a laugh, tiredly. He craves regicide.] I found out he'd been lying to me— about our family, the Titan, wild magic, everything. And when I confronted him, he tried to kill me. I couldn't go back to the castle after that, so I just... ran away. I guess.
Pretty much. But I don't wanna think about what I would have done if he hadn't tried to kill me then, or what would've happened if I never found out what he was planning, so...

Sometimes people are great manipulators. And they know what heartstrings to tug on to get their own way. Then if that doesn’t work — fear, threats and violence work just as well.
