What was he so mad about?

He sent me out on a mission to retrieve more palismen. Said he needed them to manage his... "curse." [Said with an eye roll.] Obviously, I failed and he wasn't too happy about that.

If he was gonna throw a fit about it he could do his own curse managing expedition.

He was the Emperor. He didn't do expeditions. That's what he kept me around for.

Wasn't authorized to leave outside of missions. And if I wasn't on a mission, then I was studying, or training, or standing guard next to him.

Sometimes people are great manipulators. And they know what heartstrings to tug on to get their own way. Then if that doesn’t work — fear, threats and violence work just as well.

Or all of the above, all the time. [He sighs.] Rhetorically. I know exactly how it would've gone, anyway. He planned to kill everyone on the isles.

Because he's a human witch hunter. Bloody Mary called him a religious fanatic. He got stuck in the isles one day and thought it was his duty to burn it all down.

… Bloody Mary’s probably right. If he hates a group of people that much he’d be willing to kill them, and thinks it’s some higher power given duty, then yeah. He’s a lot of crayons short of a full set.
