He sent me out on a mission to retrieve more palismen. Said he needed them to manage his... "curse." [Said with an eye roll.] Obviously, I failed and he wasn't too happy about that.

Oh, he'd do more than that. [He huffs out a laugh, tiredly. He craves regicide.] I found out he'd been lying to me— about our family, the Titan, wild magic, everything. And when I confronted him, he tried to kill me. I couldn't go back to the castle after that, so I just... ran away. I guess.

Sometimes people are great manipulators. And they know what heartstrings to tug on to get their own way. Then if that doesn’t work — fear, threats and violence work just as well.

Because he's a human witch hunter. Bloody Mary called him a religious fanatic. He got stuck in the isles one day and thought it was his duty to burn it all down.
