[The bird puffs up his chest and chirps, almost as if showing off...? Hunter smiles, just a teeny bit.]
Look like it. Which one did you get?

Sure we can go with that. It’s not going to be sitting on my shoulder and chirping any time soon, so a pet isn’t the word I’d use.
[ he gets a briefly far off expression, before focusing again. ]
And I don’t think it’s going to be doing anything special here anyway.

[Watches him...]
Sorry, man.
[After a moment.]
Some kind of tool, then? But whatever made it special won't work in the afterlife.

[ runs into your kneecaps AHHHH TAGGING ]
Pretty much. It could do a lot of things back home, but not so much here. It’s running a basic function, and I’m glad about that at least.

That's... better than nothing, I guess.
[He glances at his bird friend, thinking.]
We all got some kind of downgrade. What can it normally do?

[ QUYNN OUR SCHEDULES 😭 we are just tanabataing it up over here ]
I doubt they’d want to give us all the benefits, especially if they were handy.
Communications device. It could run scans on things, body temperature checks, x-rays, run checks on databases. All kinds of stuff.

Whoa. That's
so
cool.
[A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING... Neat!
He pauses, though. And a little sheepishly:]

[ good question, how to explain it… ]
It lets you see through things. So… if you were hiding behind a wall, and I used the x-ray function, I’d be able to see you were there. Good way for seeing if someone’s hiding something on themselves, or nearby.
