[While Hunter is flying around the city, he can find Zelgadis, sitting on the edge of the roof of a tall skyscraper, gazing out at the city with his cape flapping behind him like he's Batman.]
[He laughs because he's kind of terrible like that, but he at least looks a little apologetic about startling him.]
Sorry, sorry. He just wanted to show off.
["He" being... the staff? Although clearly a piece of wood now, Flajack still turns his head to look at Zelgadis with one glowing, yellow eye before he chirps. Hello.]
He got his magic back. [Dismounting so Flapjack can pop himself off the staff, which promptly dissolves into light once it's not connected to the bird.] What do you think? He's impressive, right?
[He glances outward, at the empty space before them.]
I dabble in a few different schools of magic, but my specialty is shamanism... elemental magic that draws on the forces of nature.
[Then he holds up a hand, and with a short incantation, he conjures a row of Flare Arrows -- large arrows made of fire. One by one, they shoot off into the distance, flying up into the sky and fizzling.]
[Honestly, he looks very impressed while he watches the arrows zoom off into the distance.]
Fire arrows... So, since we're in hell, are they drawing from all the lava and heat around us?
[There isn't a lot of nature to go around in hell.]
Where I come from, elemental magic used to be more commonly practiced in the savage ages. It's died out because of the coven system... But one of my friends, Luz, she discovered another form of magic that works very similarly to it.

He seems to reach for something in his cloak as a reflex, and then, seeing Hunter, stops and just gives him a questioning look.]
