I've read that it used to be a rite of passage for young witches and demons to carve their own around our age, but... It's not as common anymore. Palistrom wood's been over-harvested. And there's, um, only so many palismen left out there, too.
[He... will not elaborate on that. But Harrow caught a peep of his trip through his palisman vore loving uncle's brain, so.]
If you forge a bond with one, though, a palisman is a lifelong companion and part of our magical staves. Flap and I were... are bonded for life.
