Right. I guess Kon could've passed his item on to someone else, too... Do you know what any of the items do?
[He pauses, though, and after a moment:]
... Maybe it's a coincidence. But did you find it weird that Lu Bixing insisted on having two people, including himself, check Tuuri? He didn't do the same for you, D.Va or Persephone, and you were all a good match for the footprints.
Not Kon's. I was unconscious when we got the items on the adventure, but Chandra told me later.
[at that question, though, she shakes her head.]
Not at all, frankly. Tuuri was refusing to comply with the check, which is unusual for her. When she explained, she said it was because Uriel usually checked her. But Uriel died two weeks ago, and she complied without argument last week.
Under those circumstances, if he hadn't insisted on watching, I would have.
... That's true. [He sighs.] I guess I'm reading too much into it. The timing between Rynlan and Thancred coming back with the costumes, and Lu Bixing calling Tuuri and Zelgadis out was just— unlucky.
[Since they immediately stopped looking at evidence, rip.]
We got too confident and thought we had everything we needed as soon as an obvious answer was presented to us.
I would suggest that is precisely what the culprit counted on. They picked Tuuri, someone they must have known would confess if pressured, but no one would want to see her killed.

It caused a commotion and distracted us.
