[He walks past the skeletons, visibly fascinated as he makes his way over to Harrow. Weirdly enough, Flapjack isn't using him as a perch today, but Hunter carries a staff with a familiar design. Wowie.]
Oh, no, I know they're not your bones. Even you don't have that many bones to spare. [...] I think.
[MAYBE? If Harrow told him she had a perpetual bone machine he might just believe her.
He takes the seat that's offered to him and lets go of his staff, which kind of dematerializes midair — mostly because Flapjack reanimates when he hears his name and twists himself off the top. His leggies are back. Hello.]
I have many bones back on the Ninth. And I can expand them. [she pulls off one of her earrings and molds it, making it grow into a small bird skeleton to match flapjack.] Perpetual bone is a work in progress.
[Oh... That is so cool... Flapjack trills, looking back and forth between the bird skeleton and Hunter like, hello? Are you seeing this, boy???]
Oh. Whoops. [Hmm...] Well, uh, palismen are carved from the branches of an ancient tree known as the palistrom tree. I've read that it used to be a rite of passage for young witches and demons to carve their own around our age, but... It's not as common anymore. Palistrom wood's been over-harvested. And there's, um, only so many palismen left out there, too.
[He... will not elaborate on that. But Harrow caught a peep of his trip through his palisman vore loving uncle's brain, so.]
If you forge a bond with one, though, a palisman is a lifelong companion and part of our magical staves. Flap and I were... are bonded for life.

[some skeletons pull up a chair and gesture for him to sit.]

I told you he's my palisman before, right?

You did, but I do not know what that means.
